Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) are an investment mode wherein investors receive a predetermined number of interest payments at a fixed interest rate. This Interest amount will be paid to the investor periodically till the maturity date of the bond as per the terms and conditions. At maturity, investors also receive their invested amount adjusted for any increase/decrease in the market price of gold.
Sovereign Gold Bonds are issued by the government of India to shift investors from holding physical gold to holding gold in digital form.
